Common Questions About Transport (TA).
1. Which cities qualify as Higher TPTA cities?
19 major urban agglomerations qualify: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Surat, Nagpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Patna, Kochi, Kozhikode, Indore, Coimbatore, and Ghaziabad.
2. Is Transport Allowance paid during full month leave?
No. If an employee is on leave or absence for the entire calendar month from 1st to the last day, TA is not admissible for that month.
3. How is DA on Transport Allowance calculated?
The effective DA percentage (currently 53%) is applied directly to the base Transport Allowance slab. For instance, in Higher TPTA cities at Level 9+, TA is ₹7,200 + 53% DA (₹3,816) = ₹11,016 per month.
